Environmental Technician

Role Description

Claire’s role focuses on measuring the water quality of streams in the Auckland region, ensuring the sensor equipment is maintained and calibrated to a high standard.

She conducts analysis using turbidity (NTU), total suspended solids (TSS) and water level data from our remote water quality sensors. The status of waterways of interest is liaised with clientele.

Qualifications

  • Claire is in the process of completing her BSc (Bachelor of Marine Science and Ecology) in 2024.
  • She plans to further her study, working towards an MSc in Marine Science.

Specialist Skills

  • An awareness of ecological connections instilled from an upbringing on a free-range, ethical elk farm in Canada.
  • This understanding is brought forward into Claire’s work at Mote, bringing focus to the knock-on effect of changes to the environment.
