More and more of our devices have multiple connectivity routes home to provide data security and manage OPEX.
While the many satellite options continue to reduce in price, high gain directional antennae still offer a cost-effective option and redundancy to get our data home. Our very remote stations provide us special challenges to avoid intermittent cellular communication – particularly during poor weather.
A passive, high gain directional antenna on a lonely remote ridge remains a beautiful thing, in this case, it significantly improved the cellular signal strength from 16% to 48% of full strength.
The site also has satellite connectivity, and the client & Mote can choose how to receive the data rain hail or shine at very low connectivity costs.
