Ultra Fine Particles

Ultrafine particles (UFP’s) are particles less than 0.1 µm diam and are a complex air pollutant with the ability to penetrate deep into the lungs and cross over into the bloodstream.

This project aims to measure, characterise, and build an understanding of UFP’s from different sources across Australia and New Zealand cities.

We are contributing to a unique team of cross-disciplinary, lead international scientists from Australia, Spain, Germany, and Korea, as well as partners representing State authorities responsible for air quality in Queensland, Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia, Tasmania, Western Australia and New Zealand.
