Huntly thermal power station
Four ambient air quality monitoring stations positioned around the power station continuously monitor ambient concentrations of PM10, SO2 and NO2, along with various meteorological measurements. Mote services and calibrates the equipment in accordance with the appropriate AS/NZS standards, then validates and summarises the data in accordance with National Good Practice Guidelines. The subsequent data is used by Genesis Energy as part of their environmental monitoring programme.
The diagnostic information from the instruments is continuously checked to ensure that operating parameters remain within tolerance at all times. We also continuously monitor and report on ambient air concentration and determine compliance with National Environmental Standards and Regional Air Quality Guidelines.
